NICKELODEON

Exhibit Design, Fabrication, Project Management, On-site Supervision

This 50′ X 20′ Licensing Expo exhibit for Nickelodeon transformed elements from the brand into a three dimensional space filled with texture and tactile experiences. Visitors are greeted by a reception desk filled with ping-pong balls while meetings are held at tables in the shapes of a scrambled “n-i-c-k-e-l-o-d-e-o-n”. A sixteen-foot wide photo-op wall made of hundreds of projecting tubes creates the backdrop of the booth and a media display with TV and iPads show the upcoming Nick shows.

MITOSIS LIGHTS

Interactive Design, Lighting Design, Engineering, Fabrication, Installation

Mitosis is a modular lighting system that is always changing and enables users to not only control the amount of light being emitted, but the patterns, shapes and impressions that the lights create. Glowing colored orbs illuminate when touched once and return to their off states when touched again. Mitosis takes lighting out of the object world and into the realm of the spatial environment.

GOOD LAUNCH

Design, Event Design, Fabrication, Installation

For the launch of the first issue of GOOD Magazine, NON was asked to transform the historical St. Vibiana’s Cathedral into an atmosphere that would reflect the company’s eco-friendly philosophy. Our approach was to abstract the concept of “landscape” and creating functional elements that would provide lounging areas, lighting and intimate mingling spaces. The design included custom TOPO seating platforms, bars and a lit fabric “cloud” hovering above the seating areas.

NON 101 COLLECTION

Hospitality Design, Furniture and Lighting Design

The 101 collection was specifically designed for and inspired by the needs of student residency. Iconic forms with customizable looks and accessories support the active student lifestyle while durable materials and a system of renewable parts serve practicality and economy.

BAT CAVE

Design, Experiential Marketing, Fabrication, On-site Supervision

For Warner Bros. Entertainment to display 6 original Batmobiles at Comic-Con, NON was commissioned to design and construct a space to house the Batman brand. 120′ Long by 60′ wide by 15′ tall, this shaded space is formed by mesh panels forming arches and caverns for the Batmobiles to sit throughout.

APERTURES OF NATURE

Public Art, Fabrication, Installation

Hollywood’s film industry transports people to other settings through the framed view of the screen. Apertures of Nature is about framing details. Precise views of foliage, branches, shadows and bark are captured in pockets of seamless white space. This piece focuses on the celebration of simple beauties that may often go unnoticed. Installed in Plummer Park, West Hollywood for a period of four months.

LEXUS CT UMBRA

LEXUS CT UMBRA

Design, Experiential Marketing, Fabrication, On-site Supervision

As a visual representation of the campaign message, Lexus commissioned NONdesigns to create a sculptural representation of the CT 200h that will be displayed at events around the country. NON created a pixilated interpretation of the compact premium hybrid that treats viewers to the two personalities of the vehicle. When viewers walk around the installation, they experience a change in color from luxurious gold hues to organic tints of green and blue — representing the two seemingly contradictory perspectives of Lexus’ fifth hybrid.

HOVERSTATE OFFICE

Creative Office Design, Fabrication, Construction Management

Under construction: NON designed digital agency Hoverstate’s new LA headquarters along with custom workstations and furniture. An open floor plan with exposed brick, concrete floor, truss ceiling and HVAC ducts replaced the low drop ceiling and tiny cubicle offices. Custom light fixtures array outward from the new glass conference room which divides the space into offices, lounge, and open workstations.

BUBBLES INSTALLATION

Interactive Design, Engineering, Fabrication, Installation

Our team’s challenge was to create a site-specific architectural scale installation that would engage the public and create a fun, social atmosphere for the community at M&A. Bubbles was not only a spectacle that stopped traffic, but excited visitors by allowing them to influence the physical space around them. The installation consists of large interactive bubbles that inflate and deflate in reaction to the changing occupancy of their surrounding space. The space starts out packed with bubbles and transforms to just a canopy as the space fills with visitors. In collaboration with Foxlin (Michael Fox and Juintow Lin) and Brand Name Label (Gabriel Renz). American Institute of Architects Honor Award.
